Pampers Giveaways

I hate joining 'rewards clubs' online because of the mass amounts of junk email I get.  However, I decided to join Pampers network and I am recommending it to those with young children.  It is pampers.com and called Gifts to Grow.  You get 'points' by doing various things, such as visiting a sponsers website, or buying a box of pampers.  You type in a code they give you and points show up on your account.  These points are actually redeemable for toys and entrys into giveaways.  I usually forget to save codes from my diapers or wipes, but I try to open two pages while on the internet, and let a video play on the pampers site.  You get about 2 points for each video watched.  Pretty cool and easy for getting new stuff :)

Tragedy

United  States of America.  Or just North America?  How much of history really is the truth?  I believe it just just a part of his story that someone put in writing and passed down in textbooks.  No one really knows whats going on, we just do what were told.  Sure we have our own minds and believe certain parts are a little different then what were told, but why is the truth never out there.  I understand security reasons, such as not advertising when or where we are going to strike next.  But what about Katrina?  There were dead people on the side of the road...for weeks.  Families were forcefully seperated.  We spent how much money on this 'war' and how much on rescuing humans in the states?  Its extremely sad that many Americans have simply given up on politics because of the corruption.  We don't even have the decent courtesy and respect for the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! What member of a high counsel would go to another country and insult their leader? No one!  We are so afraid we will be sued for offending someone that we can't even express our opinion.  I would love to keep all of our advances as a people but go back to the days when children didn't curse, metal detecters were only in airports and people had respect for their elders.  All the hidden money and lies that are behind so much of our daily life honestly makes me sick to my stomach.

Sex and the City!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I make dinner I must let my readers know there is a Sex and the City sequel coming SOON!!! YEAHHHH!!! My quilty pleasure is coming back with never before seen pleasures!!  Below is a link to set pictures and more info:

dance, Dance, DANCE!!!

I've thought alot about my previous dance career.  Its been awhile since I've danced last and that intimidates me to start up again.  Not to mention not a soul around me would support me.  When I was MAJORING in dance at COLLEGE I was questioned, even though there was job placement.  I gave up, and still to this day I give up because dancers are a dime a dozen.  The only problem is its not just a dream, its a lifestyle, its my passion.  This is an old picture, if you even recognize me, in the front, bottom right.  I was never happier then when I was dancing.  When this military stuff is done I promise myself that I will dance again.  Even if its a side job I HAVE to dance.  I can't explain how much I miss it.  Easier said then done though :(  How can I tell my child to follow her dreams if I didn't do the same?  I don't think I can live with myself if I don't continue to dance.  Before I was married I was accepted to dance on a cruise ship.  Instead I married and joined the military.  Don't get me wrong, I love my family. .. but I NEED to dance!! dance, Dance, DANCE!!

Mommy Awards

If you are not a mom, you might as well skip this.  Those that have kids will either laugh or cry.  Why do we have to go through the terrible twos and the tantrums?! I swear laboring a human out of my personal hole would be enough!  My precious princess is at the stage where she cries even when she is playing.  She has half a room sectioned off with one of those gates that connect in a big circle.  The only problem is that she wants to be anywhere BUT inside those gates.  Even though all her toys are INSIDE the gate.  You wake up to some crying, make breakfast, only to clean it up.  Then she wants a book read and is tired for a short nap. . .maybe.  During her nap you need to clean up all her diapers and dishes and toys because when she wakes you will have no time for these things.  We do this day in and day out with no thank you, no money compensation and no awards. Yea yea her smile is worth it, but COME ON! I do less at my job and get paid!  I love this age, don't get me wrong--but shouldn't moms get a little something to keep us going.  Like it should be mandated that all nail salons give all moms a free pedicure once a year, or a free hair coloring.  How great would that be?  A chef or maid's service for a day, oh how pampering that would be!! Well I'm off to put my little one to sleep and maybe I can make dad do my chores for today ;)

Breakfast

I was very proud of myself this morning, I actually made a real breakfast.  Best French Toast in the world: Two eggs beaten, a little milk, dash of vanilla just a little less of lemon juice--don't let that throw you off, you wont taste lemon I promise.  Some cinnamon and sugar and little bit of brown sugar, depending on how sweet you like your toast.  Dip some Texas toast in your mixture and cook on top of the stove in a pan w/ some melted butter and you've got an AWESOME breakfast!!  I never realized how easy French toast was.  You can add cream cheese and some fruit to make them a sandwich, or add flavored syrup to make this uniquely yours.  ENJOY!

First before I forget, a GREAT way to keep recipes is to keep a little diary sized book.  I have one that says "Character is like your little black dress, it never goes out of style" and theres a cute little black dress on the front! :)  You clip and paste all the receipes you find.  Out of parenting magazine, those tiny betty crocker/pillbury books, moms, grandmas.  Its pretty limitless and doesn't need to be pretty.  I used stick glue but gave up when I lost it to what I can find to make them stick.  And if you don't have time to make them stick, you can just shove them in the book until later.  It makes grocery shopping easier for me.  I can plan an easy week of meals by looking in my 'diary' and buying only those ingredients.  Helps save money to make that list ahead of time!!!! LOTS!!! :) Hope that helps!

Pulled Pork

I can't take credir for this one, it comes from Ms. Janet Berry at work.  You need some liquid smoke, sea salt and pork.  She said she used pork shoulder, all I could find is pork sirloin, none the less it was about 99cents a pound.  You poke some deep holes in the meat, rub sea salt all over it and some liquid smoke and your done!! Well pretty much, that goes in a crock pot over low heat all night.  I put mine in after work and cooked it untill much later that day.  When its done you pour liquids out and take out any fat, add your favorite bbq sauce and enjoy :)  Im addicted to Sweet Baby Rays.  I add alot of the regular and half the amount of their honey chipotle.  If you like something sweeter try their hickery brown sugar.  How much you make just depends on the weight of your pork meat.  This was made over the long holiday weekend so I really only had to cook once ;)

Ups and Downs

I've actually been sitting in front of the tiny laptop with my dainty wine glass filled with a blue magic potion for about an hour now. A little intermitent because I had to put the beast to sleep--thats what my husband calls my daughter. Its very fitting. I read a smarts lady blog: beamingbalance.blogspot.com and started to wonder why I can't write little inspirational things to make people smile. I believe the answer is because my life seems to follow a crazy soap opera, like One Life To Live or Days of Our Lives. Honestly I don't know if these still exist but my mom loved to watch them while doing the laundry. I wish I could say Sex and the City because I have an obsession with it, but I'm not that cool. I'm pretty broke, but managing and on salary so bills are all over due but will slowly get paid. The funny and dramatic times come when I'm driving down the street and people start pointing. Normally I would smile and speed off but I had a feeling they werent trying to hit on me. Sure enough, my front headlight had popped out and was dragging on the ground. Thankfully cords attached so it is still lite, just not helping any. My car is in the shop with a coolant leak so I taped it in. I also thank God I bought clear packing tape when I moved so at least its a LITTLE discret. UGH!! This tops off the no air conditioning and the sun roof that won't close all the way.

So back to the begining, someone smart once described lifes balance as a juggling act as opposed to a teeter totter. I have to agree because everytime one side tries to get ahead, something unthinkable seems to fall on it and they even back out!!!

Happier Times

So on a much happier note then my last few posts, holidays are a beautiful non working tradition. I got friday and monday off. We drove to the water and had a great adventure. Some coworkers were barbquing and we all got some good chicken and potatoe salad. The baby took a little nap, so me n the hubby and the dog. . .walked along the beach and climbed rocks. It was young and romantic. We even got to leave with some good food! Being in the hot sun with my other half was really what I needed to smile again. I have been SO blessed with everything God has given me. I'm only 23 yrs old and I already have a great hubby, a beautiful child, a nice house, two cars, the perfect dog and health care!! I can't explain how much joy my little toddler brings me. Shes babbling and says dahdah a lot, but lately shes been growling. She has a book with a dinosaur and growls at it. Its amazing how almost all kids shows are educational now a days. Mickey Mouse is not even close to the old school violent cartoon I used to watch. Well enough writing, the president is going to talk soon and I actually think this one has some brains and worked to get elected. His daddy didn't do it for him ;)
