New great recipe
I found another great one!! This a great recipe to use on the fly to entertain and change up to whatever you fancy. The staple ingredient is actually a refrigerated pie crust. I cooked up some chicken, sheredded it, added some mayo, chopped celery and onion. Then you use a cookie dough cutter to make about 3in circles in the pie crust. You guessed it, put a heaping tablespoon of your unique mixture into the middle of the cut crust. Finger a little water around the edges, fold um over and use a fork to make them stick together. Place your cute little pockets on a greasked cookie sheet and cook for about 15 mins. You can fill with eggs and bacon, chicken and red pepper, hamburger and bacon, whatever your style. The fork makes the edges look all fancy and the pie crust gets just crispy enough that people think you spent hard hours in the kitchen. ;) They are my cheap pot-luck dish! hehe
Money thoughts
With all the talking about our economy and the high gas prices you can't help but wonder; Are we going to inflate ourselves broke? Gas hasn't changed much in the past 2 years, so why are we paying more then double? Movie theaters haven't added anything to their establishments so why are we paying double for our movies too? I understand my electric bill going up after I've been married and have a baby, but thats about all I seem to understand. You can explain all the politics you want, but I think it comes down to plain greed. The average working man (or woman!) trying to make enough money to match their neighbors inflation. I'll admit my savings seems to be going to my broken down cars and overpriced food and diapers. Why do I have to pay more for less diapers as my daughter grows? Shouldn't either the food or the diapers get cheaper so I can at least break even? As I watch TV and dream about what I would do with more money I realize it would still be the same day to day regimen, but with maybe a little more baby toys :)
